The Conflict Dynamics Profile Explained

The Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP) is a tool that assesses and measures conflict behaviors. It helps individuals increase self-awareness and improve their conflict management skills.

There are two versions of the instrument – the CDP-Individual (CDP-1) and CDP-360, and the aggregated results of the CDP-Individual can be used to produce the CDP – team profile.

Think Better. Feel Better. Respond Better with CDP.

The CDP-individual is a self-report assessment which reports on how you view yourself in conflict. It is comprised of an 8-page Feedback Report providing a simple way of helping you understand more about how you respond to conflict both behaviourally and emotionally. The assessment questionnaire is accessed online and take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Once it is scored, the detailed Feedback Report is provided together with a comprehensive 40-page Development Guide.

The CDP Feedback Reports are presented by a trained CDP consultant in a one-on-one feedback session. The CDP consultant will guide the user in the interpretation of the assessment finding, and Development Guide which contains information and tips for coping with conflict and building strong interpersonal relationships.

The purpose of the CDP assessment and feedback is t equip the user with new awareness and knowledge about how to respond constructively to conflict and build their conflict intelligence. Each user will have a unique approach to this based on their individual profile. This will be documented for them in their personal Development plan.

How The Process Works

The Conflict Dynamics Profile can be purchased by individuals wishing to develop their self-awareness in conflict. It can be accessed as part of our training programmes in the context of conflict management coaching or in preparation for mediation or other dispute resolution processes. Feedback reports are always delivering in person by a trained CDP Coach. The Coach can provide additional knowledge and understanding of the CDP in a way that encourages the development of new practical solutions and strategies to the resolution of a given conflict or the development of a new approach to dealing with conflict generally.
